MAR 23 24: The Sovereign Voice Workshop Video
In this session, Robert explores the journey of healing childhood trauma and developing a “sovereign voice.” He begins by introducing the concept of parallel worlds—where children, parents, and inner critics interact within the mind—and emphasizes the importance of understanding and integrating these internal figures. Robert then discusses the evolution of the parent voice, noting how it progresses from absent to tough-loving, guiding the inner child through emotional regulation. The workshop focuses heavily on the tough-loving voice, its role in dealing with anger and defiance, and how it helps set clear boundaries. Robert also examines the process of “humbling the critic,” a vital step in silencing the internal critic that often disrupts healing. Lastly, he touches on the development of the sovereign voice, an empowered, self-regulated voice that is integral to personal growth and healing. Robert concludes with practical homework assignments to help participants integrate the lessons learned into their everyday lives.

APR 20 24 The Sovereign Voice: Homework Session
In this session, participants revisit key questions left over from the recent workshop, focusing on the challenges of nurturing an effective tough-loving inner parent and reducing the inner critic’s toxic influence. The discussion highlights the differences between loving and tough-loving parental voices, emphasizing how each serves to regulate intense emotions and maintain essential boundaries in the inner world. Attendees share personal breakthroughs on managing anger, clarifying attachments to inherited beliefs, and using co-regulation to address ongoing triggers. They also recount successes and struggles with the 30-day “homework” practice, describing how daily safe containers and boundary-setting techniques help calm inner chaos, foster self-trust, and reduce outer-world pass-through. By identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs about the critic’s role, members find that steady, compassionate but firm parenting can lead to genuine transformation, allowing for healthier adult choices and a more authentic, grounded sense of self.
